BOB WILSON, AN ACROBAT ON ...THE LAST KRAPP’S TAPE

Tapes of water made of lights. Like the tapes keeping Krapp’s diary. This is the first impression viewers have had during the The last Krapp’s tale premiere just performed at the Caio Melisso theatre by a striking Bob Wilson (both actor and director).

Austere areas of light and darkness, vertical lines like those painted by the rain pouring down on Krapp’s memories.

It’s  his seventieth birthday. Krapp is going to record his observations concerning the year he has just completed. His bedroom is a large archive full of tapes. He listens to an old tape and starts looking back. On one hand, he makes fun of himself by mocking his past hopes and expectations. On the other hand, he sadly realises to have lost the sole chance to be happy: his lover Effi.
