HOP O' MY THUMB, HANSEL AND GRETEL: A MAGIC BOX FULL OF FAIRY TALES. SINTONI AND CASADIO’S ACADEMY ON STAGE (PHOTO)

Founded in 1982, the Accademia Perduta Romagna Teatri (APRT), directed by Ruggero Sintoni and Claudio Cassadio, offers a great program in Spoleto focused both on classic (Hop o' My Thumb, Hansel and Gretel, the Pied Piper) and modern (Flag by Mario Lodi) fairy tales.

Hop o' My Thumb and Hansel and Gretel are the first two tales performed. They talk about departure and loneliness through the metaphor of the wood and about the protagonists’ evolution after coming back home.

“Each fairy tale is like a magic mirror reflecting some aspects of our inner world and the steps towards adulthood” Bruno Bettlheim said in “Enchanted world”
