SANTO LOQUASTO, WOODY ALLEN’S SET DESIGNER, PRAISES SPOLETO WORKERS.

Preparations for the opening ceremony of Spoleto Festival are well under way.

Santo Loquasto, renowned costume and set designer, arrived in Spoleto on 12th  June. He’s been working with Woody Allen since 1980 - “Crimes and Misdemeanors” (1989), “Hollywood Ending” (2002), “Anything Else” (2003) and “Melinda and Melinda” (2004).

The 52nd Festival dei 2Mondi of Spoleto opens with the European Première of Giacomo Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi ( Piazza Duomo, 26th June, 9.30 p.m) directed by Woody Allen and Santo Loquasto is finishing its staging.

”I have hardly found such a high level of knowledge and skills during my carrer” - this is Santo Loquasto personal praise for all the technicians’ hard work.

Yesterday theSymphonic Orchestra “Giuseppe Verdi”of Milan arrived in Spoleto, too. It is one of the most important symphony orchestras in Italy. Made up of 70 elements, it will be directed by the conductor and pianist Wayne Marshall during the final concert on 12th July.
